Are you a proactive and highly organised professional who enjoys providing exceptional executive support and contributing to the smooth running of a department? If you are, you will thrive in this role.
Research and External Engagement (REE) is an integrated service dedicated to driving forward the University’s ambitions for research, innovation, skills and enterprise. This professional service works to support our students, drive research excellence, upskill and reskill the regions workforce, strengthen relationships and engagement with our alumni, business and community partners.
Through cutting-edge research initiatives, hands-on learning opportunities, strategic partnerships, civic leadership, and skills delivery, we will empower individuals to thrive in an ever-changing world.
About the team
The Digital and Enabling Team will be at the forefront of shaping digital transformation, process improvements, and automation that empower the entire service to innovate and thrive. Your expertise will contribute to a forward-thinking, dynamic, data-led environment that constantly seeks better ways of working and greater impact.
About the role
This role will provide outstanding Executive Support to the Director of Research and External Engagement and the wider management team.
You’ll build positive, effective relationships with colleagues at all levels, communicating clearly and confidently. You’ll feel comfortable representing senior leaders, preparing meeting papers, taking minutes, and ensuring actions are followed through.
Working closely with teams across Research and External Engagement and beyond, sharing information, coordinating activities and contributing to a supportive and efficient working environment.
You will manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, track key activities and keep things moving. Whether coordinating executive meetings, monitoring departmental processes, or planning small scale projects, you take pride in being reliable and detail focused.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting others. You need to be super organised, a logical thinker and be able to put yourself in the shoes of the people you’re supporting – REE is a busy service that runs across multiple offices and campuses.
You’ll need to be a clear communicator who is skilled at engaging with stakeholders in and outside of the University, at varying different levels of seniority. In addition, you will need to be able to work independently and prioritise your own workload reacting to what is happening in that day/week.
Where you will be working
UWE Bristol is a campus-based University, with vibrant campus communities that are central to student life.
In this role, you’ll be based at our modern Frenchay Campus where we’ve invested in state-of-the-art facilities designed to help both staff and students succeed.
You’ll spend most of your time on campus, typically 60 percent of your time, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.
