Within the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience, the Allied Health course provision currently includes Physiotherapy, Podiatry, and Occupational Therapy, with plans for future expansion.
Our Allied Health programmes thrive on strong partnerships with practice partners across East London, supporting the health and social care needs of the local population. A key aim of the department is to promote engagement in research and scholarship that contributes meaningfully to the professional knowledge base of Allied Health disciplines.
About the Job
The post holder will contribute to teaching, learning, and assessment across the BSc Physiotherapy programme and shared Allied Health modules. Acting as a module leader where appropriate, the post holder will work closely with experienced academic colleagues and an established course team to deliver high-quality education and student support.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the post holder will undertake roles such as academic advising and will support students and apprentices across a range of modules and courses. As a member of the academic team, the post holder will also contribute to the development of the professional, academic, research, and scholarly profile of Physiotherapy and Allied Health within the School, the wider University, and the local community.
The successful candidate must be a HCPC-registered Physiotherapist. Previous teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
Key responsibilities include:

Assisting in the development, delivery, and assessment of the Physiotherapy programme within the School of Health, Sport and Bioscience, including the creation of new learning materials.

Using excellent communication and organisational skills to ensure high-quality learning experiences and effective organisation of module content.

Working collaboratively with course teams, clinical practice staff, service users, and external partners to deliver modules and courses that meet the needs of service users and their families.

Supporting the enhancement of interprofessional collaboration and events within Allied Health and across the wider School.

Engaging with partner NHS Trusts and other service providers, and supporting learners, placement facilitators, mentors, and managers as part of the link lecturing team.
About You
You will be a motivated and committed Physiotherapist with a strong interest in education, student development, and collaborative working. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a willingness to contribute to curriculum development, and the ability to work effectively within an academic and practice-focused environment. An interest in research, scholarship, and professional development within Allied Health education is highly desirable.
