We invite applications for a fully funded studentship to work on the interdisciplinary field of applications of gauge-gravity dualities (aka, holography) to the study of strongly coupled theories relevant to particle physics and cosmology. The candidate will use formal tools descended from string theory and supergravity, to perform analytical and numerical calculations of observable quantities in new physics proposal for the extension of the Standard Model. The target theory and observables will be identified together with the candidate, depending on their specific skill sets and research interests, and on current state-of-the-art research trends.
The candidate will join the diverse, International, and interdisciplinary, world-leading research environment provided by the Centre for Quantum Fields and Gravity, at Swansea University. They will benefit from daily interaction within a group of staff and students counting approximately forty researchers, and from the extensive programme of research seminars, journal clubs and training opportunities it runs.
