The role
The Anatomy Technical Team in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences are seeking a Specialist Teaching Technician to support the delivery of anatomy teaching to the Medical, Veterinary, Dental and Science Programmes.
This is an exciting full-time role working in the Anatomy teaching spaces which include the Human and Veterinary Dissection Rooms, Anatomical Museums and the Vesalius Clinical Training Centre. Providing essential technical and operational support as part of a highly successful and respected team.
What will you be doing?
You will produce and maintain essential teaching aids, such as human and animal anatomical prosections and anatomical potted specimens.
You will plan resource requirements in advance to meet scheduled teaching activities in response to academic and departmental requests. This includes collection of resources from other organisations, MRI scanning and external consultancy work. You will provide training and guidance in specialist techniques, for example embalming and dissection skills, whilst adhering to strict HTA guidelines.
As part of the core technical team you will prepare, maintain and clean down anatomy teaching and surgical laboratories, ensuring the teaching spaces are fully compliant with Health & Safety and other legislative or policy requirements.
