Full time starting salary (Grade 9) is normally £58,225 to £67,468 with potential progression to £87,974

Full time starting salary (Grade 8) is normally £47,389 to £56,535 with potential progression to £63,606 

Brief Job Description:

The School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences is seeking to appoint an Assistant (Grade 8) or Associate (Grade 9) Professor in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (Education). The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in physiotherapy education across pre-registration and postgraduate programmes, contributing to curriculum design, programme development, teaching, assessment, student support and educational innovation.

You will play a leading role in shaping contemporary physiotherapy education, strengthening clinical partnerships, enhancing practice-based learning opportunities and supporting the development of innovative teaching approaches including simulation and digital learning.

Person specification:

  • HCPC registered Physiotherapist.
  • Postgraduate qualification (MSc/MRes or higher) relevant to musculoskeletal physiotherapy or sports exercise medicine.
  • Higher degree (normally PhD) or equivalent qualification (Grade 9)
  • Significant experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and/or sports exercise medicine practice and education.
  • Demonstrable leadership in teaching, curriculum development and educational innovation.
  • Strong understanding of UK healthcare delivery and contemporary physiotherapy practice.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience of working with external partners, including NHS organisations, professional bodies and clinical networks.
