We’re seeking a skilled, motivated, and experienced AV professional to join our team as an AV/IT Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity to build on your existing expertise in a fast-paced, supportive, and varied environment—contributing to the delivery of high-quality IT services across the Royal Veterinary College (RVC).
In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with the Senior AV/IT Technician, IT Resources Manager and colleagues across the IT department to provide outstanding AV support to students and staff. Based primarily at our Camden campus, you’ll also occasionally travel to our Hawkshead campus in Potters Bar to gain familiarity with VC and teaching rooms across both sites.
Your responsibilities will include diagnosing and resolving technical issues across a wide range of audio visual and IT hardware and software, organising part orders, repairs and upgrades and liaising with suppliers. You’ll also offer guidance and support to external visitors and speakers with their personal devices, making every day varied and rewarding.
Success in this role depends on your ability to troubleshoot efficiently, communicate effectively, and collaborate across teams and departments. You’ll be key to delivering user-focused, reliable AV and IT services that support the College’s broader strategic goals.
We’re seeking someone with strong communication skills and proven experience working with both AV hardware and software in a complex, user-focused environment. Experience in higher education is highly desirable, along with a solid background in AV troubleshooting, technical problem-solving, and analytical thinking. You should also be confident working with both technical and non-technical colleagues to ensure seamless support across the institution.
We are currently the QS number 1 ranked veterinary school in the world and a great not-for-profit organisation to work for. The College’s total reward package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, and free sports/gym facilities, with campuses in Camden and leafy Hertfordshire. A Working from Home Policy is in operation providing hybrid working opportunities as appropriate.
Normal working hours per week will be 35 per week, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. This may vary from time to time in consultation with your line manager.
We offer a generous reward package and benefits including:
