We are seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join the Finance Team in the Department of Engineering's Finance Office at their Trumpington Street site. The Finance Office is part of the Department's "central administration" providing support across the whole department. The Finance team consists of ten people who work alongside the team administering research grants as well as the purchasing team. 

Reporting to the Department's Finance Office Manager, you will have responsibility for overseeing the Finance Office's five Finance Clerks as well as providing direct accounting support in a highly trained, efficient and flexible manner within the Department. In doing so, you will be contributing to the effective management of Departmental finances.

You will be educated to at least A Level standard with an AAT level 4 Professional Diploma, or equivalent accounting qualification, or actively studying for the later stages of the AAT level 4 Professional Diploma. The successful candidate will be highly numerate and analytical as well as skilled in processing accounting transactions, ideally using computerised accounting systems such as Oracle Financials. Good communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to display tact and diplomacy in dealing with a wide range of staff at all levels, are essential for this role. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate significant experience gained whilst working in a busy financial or administrative function within a large organisation.
