An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Research Nurse to join the internationally recognised research teams within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM), University of Oxford. CVM is renowned for excellence in translational and clinical cardiovascular research, delivering innovative studies that improve patient care and outcomes worldwide. 

The successful candidate will join a friendly, supportive, and collaborative multidisciplinary team, working alongside other Research Nurses and Clinical Research Practitioners, as well as Principal Investigators, Radiographers, Cardiac Physiologists, and other clinical research colleagues to deliver high-quality cardiovascular research. 

As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will play a key role in the set-up, co-ordination, and delivery of Phase II and III commercially sponsored Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPs). The successful candidate will also contribute to a diverse portfolio of cardiovascular research studies across our Division. The role requires a compassionate, patient-centred approach, ensuring participants feel supported, informed, and valued throughout their research journey. 

Responsibilities will include the delivery of clinical trials from study start-up to close-out; identifying and recruiting participants and assisting with consenting to meet recruitment targets and study timelines; co-ordinating and conducting study visits; undertaking protocol-specific clinical procedures, sample collection and collecting and managing clinical research data. The postholder will work closely with Principal Investigators and Sponsors to ensure studies are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with study protocols, Good Clinical Practice and regulatory requirements. 

The successful candidate must be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (please include your PIN, registration date, and revalidation date within your application). Clinical experience within the NHS or an equivalent healthcare setting is essential, together with proven experience of co-ordinating commercial CTIMP studies. Strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail are also essential. Experience providing nursing care within a cardiac or cardiovascular setting and a basic understanding of the pathophysiology and management of cardiovascular disease would be advantageous. 

This is a full-time appointment on a fixed-term contract for three years. The postholder will join the CVM Research Nurse & Support Team (RN&ST) based at the Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR), John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. We are seeking a candidate who is ideally available to start as soon as possible.
