The role
Join us at an exciting moment as we open the new Sloane Robinson Building at the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, next to Temple Meads station, and create new opportunities for collaboration between the University, communities, businesses and the public sector.
We are looking for 2 Front of House hosts to welcome visitors to our Civic Spaces, Bristol Rooms and Story Exchange, helping everyone feel at home, whether they are familiar with a university environment or visiting for the first time.
More than a traditional reception role, we are looking for a place-maker: someone who enjoys bringing people together, creating welcoming spaces and supporting a Civic team focused on tackling shared societal challenges through collaboration.
What will you be doing?
This role would suit someone who:
The post-holder will be based primarily in the Sloane Robinson Building and will also spend some time supporting our two micro-campuses in Barton Hill, and Hartcliffe and Withywood. Across all locations, you will play an important role in welcoming visitors, preparing spaces for teaching and events, and providing administrative support.
Please note that this is an on-site role. As the role involves supporting our civic spaces in person, hybrid working is not available.

Work pattern: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week, often including 1 evening per week
Example work pattern:
Role 1: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 9.30am - 5.30pm; Wed 1pm – 9pm
Role 2: Mon, Wed, Fri, Tue/Thu 8.30am – 4.30pm; Tue/Thu 1pm – 9pm
Hybrid working arrangement: This role requires 100% on-site presence, organised through a rota across multiple civic locations in Bristol.
