The project:
The Centre is pleased to announce that it has a studentship opportunity available to a student embarking on PhD research in any aspect of the History of Hong Kong, broadly conceived working in the period pre-dating 1950 (with a preference for the pre-war or pre 1930 period) We are looking for applicants interested in pursuing original research to be supervised by members of the Hong Kong History Centre and associated staff in the Department of History (including but not limited to Professor Robert Bickers, Dr Vivian Kong, Dr Peter Hamilton, and Professor Ray Yep), and who also share a vision for public engagement of the discipline.
MA / MPhil / PhD Opportunities
The Hong Kong History Centre welcomes enquiries from those considering postgraduate study. The Centre has a strong track record of nurturing scholars at an early stage of their career. Our MA, and PhD alumni work in universities and the public sector internationally. We welcome recent graduates, and also those returning to higher education in mid-career or later life. We can consider part-time or full-time study, and on-campus and distance learning registration where appropriate.
