The Centre for Long-Term Resilience (CLTR) is seeking a Senior Fellowship and Community Manager of the Biosecurity Policy Unit to launch and lead a new initiative at the heart of the UK’s biological security community. CLTR is an independent, non-partisan think tank based in Westminster, with a mission to transform global resilience to extreme AI and biological risks. This is a rare opportunity to build a flagship programme from the ground up and help shape the next generation of UK biosecurity expertise.
Since its founding in 2019, CLTR has become a trusted adviser to government on some of the most consequential challenges of our time. Its Biosecurity Unit has contributed substantially to the UK’s Biological Security Strategy and is an inaugural member of the Biosecurity Leadership Council.
As Senior Manager, your immediate priority will be to deliver a new Biosecurity Fellowship Programme pilot. The pilot puts CLTR’s “People First” value into practice by building a high-performing cohort of biosecurity expertise in the UK system. You will own the Fellowship from end to end: roadmaps and planning, advertisement and selection, onboarding and delivery, pastoral care of Fellows, and a rigorous evaluation that will inform future cohorts. Beyond the Fellowship, you will help shape the Unit’s broader approach to building a community of excellence in UK biosecurity, strengthening the capability, capacity and coherence of a fast-growing field.
The role spans strategy and operations. It would suit an organised, delivery-focused professional with experience running a fellowship or similar programme, who can turn a high-level scope into clear plans and build trust quickly. A background in biosecurity is not essential.
