Board of Trustees
His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Cabinet Member, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), serves as Chair of the MBZUAI Board of Trustees and is spearheading the establishment of the University. H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber is responsible for overseeing, developing and enhancing strategic geopolitical, social and economic partnerships with several nations.

Professor Sir Michael Brady FRS FREng FMedSci
Interim President of MBZUAI Sir Brady is Emeritus Professor of Oncological Imaging in the Department of Oncology of the University of Oxford. He is the author of over 500 articles and 50 patents in computer vision, robotics, medical image analysis, and artificial intelligence, and the author or editor of 10 books.

Dr. Kai-Fu Lee
Chairman and CEO of Sinovation Ventures and President of Sinovation Venture’s Artificial Intelligence Institute. Dr. Lee was the President of Google China, and held senior executive positions at Microsoft, SGI, and Apple.

Dr. Daniela Rus
Director of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT. Rus' research interests are in AI, robotics, and mobile computing.

Professor Anil Jain
Professor Jain is a University Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Michigan State University. His research covers pattern recognition, computer vision and biometric authentication.

Peng Xiao
CEO of Abu Dhabi-based Group 42 Ltd., Peng Xiao is a global technology and business leader with a track record of building breakthrough products, delivering customer successes, and achieving commercial results.

Academic Departments

MBZUAI will offer six academic post-graduate programs – three MSc and three at a Doctorate level – in key areas of AI: Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing.

Faculty

MBZUAI faculty come from highly ranked educational institutions and are well known in the field of AI. Faculty members will be provided with a variety of engagements including consultancy and training for government and industry professionals.
