The Sanger Institute is located on the Wellcome Genome Campus, adjacent to the village of Hinxton, nine miles South of Cambridge.

What have you done since completing your postdoc at Sanger?
I finished my Postdoctoral Fellow in September 2020. I’m currently an Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico – University of Lisbon and a Principal Investigator at INESC-ID in Lisbon, Portugal.
Sanger is a unique place. The capacity to deliver cutting-edge science at a large scale profoundly inspired the way I do science and many of the scientific areas I am pursuing in my lab – for example, applying functional genomics approaches to study the genomes of thousands of cancer cells using novel artificial intelligence approaches.
For prospective PDF fellows, it is important to note that the Sanger is geographically and scientifically very close to numerous world-leading institutions, such as EMBL-EBI and the thriving Cambridge University and Hospitals.
