ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a fixed-term Research Officer post, to run from 1 June 2024 – 31 March 2025.  We are seeking applications from criminologists with specialisms in countering hate crime at the community level.  As well as managing and promoting the StreetSnap project and producing outputs relevant to that, the post-holder will be encouraged and supported to extend their own research profile during their time in the role.

This position offers an opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute to the ongoing priorities of the Department, which has recently seen the coming together of three inter-related disciplines, Criminology, Sociology and Social Policy. The position arises as part of arrangements to cover the maternity leave of a department colleague. The Department consists of thirty-two full-time academic staff, along with a thriving team of teaching assistants, research officers and postgraduate research students.
