Research Associate/Fellow (Fixed Term)

Myotonic Dystrophy is the most common form of muscular dystrophy in adults. It affects around 1 in 5,000people. We are trying to develop a treatment for this condition as part of a multidisciplinary team involving researchers in Life Sciences and Chemistry at the University of Nottingham and colleagues at the University of Oxford. This work involves developing and testing small molecules as potential therapeutics in cell-based assays and other approaches for validation of on-target and off-target effects.

We are looking for someone to join a multidisciplinary team funded by an MRC DPFS award. The appointee will be responsible for testing compounds in cell culture and in vivo. The appointee will be expected to have knowledge and experience of molecular biology, as well as the ability to work independently and within a group.

The post is offered on a fixed term contract until 31 October 2025, with an anticipated start around May 2024. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
