Research Associate/Senior Research Associate: Soil Greenhouse Gas Flux measurements for Improving the Sustainability of Agriculture

Interview date: 8^th to 10^th May 2024

This appointment represents an exciting new development by the University to build on current research into soil greenhouse gas (GHG) fluxes. This post will support a project that will field test an app, based on AI, to identify fertiliser regimes for crops that minimize GHG emission. This is a multi-partner project with Mutus Tech, University of Sheffield and Velcourt allowing the successful candidate to gain experience of working in a multi-stake holder environment.

Suitable candidates will hold a BSc (Hons) in soil science, agriculture, or environmental science. A related MSc and existing knowledge of, or a strong interest in, soil GHG fluxes and the sustainability of crop production will be an advantage. However, training will be given as required. The successful candidate will be working within an academic group including a range of research areas. As such, the candidate will gain skills in laboratory and field work as well as learning to be able to work within a diverse team.
