Do you have experience working in a financial environment, with brilliant customer service skills? Are you excellent with organising your own workload and enjoy working as part of a team?   

If so, this part time role as Student Accounts Controller may be ideal.

You will work as part of the Student Accounts team to control the collection of tuition fees due from students and sponsors to aid the cash flows of the University, authorising payment plans, when needed.

 You will help control the allocation of loan payments, student loyalty discounts and staff fee remission applications, discussing this with students and ensuring balances are correct/refunds are issued in a timely manner.

This is a fast-paced role, and will require a well organised individual who knows how to prioritise their work to meet strict deadlines, especially during peak periods.

 As Student Accounts Controller you will:

  • Collect tuition fees from a section of students including internal and external sponsors, assisting with the cash flows of the University
  • Discuss and arrange the payment of fees with students and sponsors on a case-by-case basis
  • Control the external reporting requirements - including the completion and submission of statutory forms in connection with fees paid to the University
  • Control the allocation of loan payments, and student loyalty discounts/staff fee remission applications - ensuring correct representation in the student database
  • Produce monthly reports for cash flow committee and senior managers

 To be successful in the role you will have:

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent
  • Experience working in a financial and customer service environment
  • Ability to display a good level of numeracy with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexibly under pressure, with minimal supervision
