The School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (MDBS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to recruit a talented Research Fellow within the Centre for Public Health.

The principal aim of the post is to support the conduct of an economic evaluation of Ketamine as an adjunctive therapy for major depression and examine socio-economic inequalities in mental health/healthcare in Northern Ireland over time.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

  • A primary degree in epidemiology or biostatics, or Master’s degree in Public Health, statistics or a health-related subject.
  • Have or be about to obtain a relevant PhD in epidemiology, public health, statistics or related discipline
  • Specific, recent research experience and skills relevant to this project measurement and decomposition of health inequalities, use of age-period-cohort models and cost-effectiveness analysis/health simulation modelling.
  • Experience of using statistical packages such as STATA and R.
  • Contribution to authorship of articles in international scientific peer reviewed journals, commensurate with stage of career.

This post is available on a fixed term contract for 9 months, or available until 28/02/2025, whichever is sooner. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
