The Opportunity:
This post is full time (40 hours per week) and fixed term, starting on the 1st of June 2024 for 6 months. We are looking for someone who will work on a Wellcome Trust Mental Health Award entitled “Lithium's mechanism in bipolar disorder: investigating the light hypersensitivity hypothesis” (PI Daniel Smith). They will also join the multidisciplinary Chronopsychiatry Research Group within the Division of Psychiatry.
The postholder will play a key role in the recruitment and clinical assessment of participants in this study, including individuals with bipolar disorder and healthy controls. This will involve working with local NHS clinical services and with Bipolar Scotland to publicise the study and to identify potential study participants. The postholder will also support the collection of data on past psychiatric history, medication status, family history, current mood, sleep, rest/activity rhythms and melatonin secretion. They will also analyse these data, draft high quality publications and take part in knowledge exchange and dissemination activities associated with this project.
