We are seeking to appoint an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisor to join our team in the EDI Unit. This is an exciting position which will offer the right candidate the opportunity to support a variety of EDI projects working with different groups within the University, and to be a part of the team that leads in supporting the university to deliver on its EDI strategic objectives.
The EDI Advisor will play a key role in supporting both the Vice Principal for EDI and the Head of EDI, in the advancement of the RVC’s EDI agenda.
Key tasks of the role include equality impact assessment of new and existing policies and practices; supporting the delivery of EDI projects and equality charter work; and the delivery of disability support for members of staff, line managers and departments, providing specialist information advice and guidance on disability and reasonable adjustments policies, procedures and good practice.
The role requires a high degree of initiative, a flexible attitude to work, proven problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience of working in EDI- ideally in the higher education sector, demonstrate familiarity with relevant UK legislation, regulations, accreditation frameworks and codes of practice related to EDI, and have a genuine commitment to EDI.
