The opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity to join the compliance team at the University of Edinburgh’s Bioresearch & Veterinary Services that support staff and students who use animals in scientific research. The role will be key for providing advice on and facilitating the accurate recording of regulated procedures carried out under the Animal (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 (ASPA). The ideal candidate will need to communicate well with researchers and disseminate consistent information regarding the annual Returns of Procedures (ROP). The post holder will be responsible for reconciling Home Office Annual returns with the information held at the Establishment level within the available databases. The jobholder will also devise systems and processes to gather, collate and analyse all relevant information on animal use, which may be required to address queries under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). The role will contribute to our commitment to openness in animals research.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.
