Join Our Team as IT Support Officer

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated IT Support Officer to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a thriving environment where you'll encounter a diverse range of tasks and technologies, providing you with a fulfilling and rewarding role.

The expansion of our Department and the increasing workload of our Information Technology Office have created the need for a talented IT Support Officer like you.

This is a full-time position, available on a permanent contract.

About the role

As our IT Support Officer, you'll be the first point of contact for staff, tutors and students, providing essential support and advice on IT matters. Your primary duties will include:

  • Offering first-line IT support for PC and Mac devices, including troubleshooting SSO and MFA issues.
  • Handling activation code requests and resolving IT issues both in person and remotely.
  • Investigating telephone and wireless network issues and performing network cabling and patching as required.
  • Managing equipment procurement and maintenance, including hardware/software installation and printer maintenance.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative and University cybersecurity and data protection policies.

About you

You will have prior IT support experience in a university or business environment. You will have excellent personal skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and a good sense of humour and patience.  Strong attention to detail and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows 10 are also essential requirements of the role, together with experience with laptop/desktop installation, configuration, and printer maintenance.
