We are a world class research-intensive university. We deliver teaching and learning of the highest quality. We play a leading role in economic, social and cultural development of the North East of England. Attracting and retaining high-calibre people is fundamental to our continued success.
The Role
The School of History, Classics & Archaeology is excited to advertise this role as part of a strategic investment in Classics & Ancient History at Newcastle University. We are searching for cutting edge researchers and educators working in any sub-field of Classics, and are especially keen to develop further our strengths in the study of global antiquity, diversify our teaching and research, and sustain our commitment to interdisciplinarity.
You will contribute to the research profile of the Classics and Ancient History Section in the School of History, Classics and Archaeology (HCA) by developing an ambitious research programme, for example by including publishing high-quality outputs in internationally recognised venues, demonstrating research impact, and securing external research funding. You will be an innovative educator, contributing to the development and delivery of programmes in HCA, ensuring an outstanding teaching experience for our students.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
For more information about the role please reach out to Federico Santangelo, Professor of Ancient History.
The University has developed an Academic Job Summary Guidance document which summarises the range of activities that academic colleagues may be expected to perform.
