Group: Mitochondrial Medicine for Liver Disease

We are seeking a driven and motivated Post-doctoral scientist to become an integral part of the Mitochondrial Medicine for Liver Disease group at the Roger Williams Institute of Hepatology (RW-IoH). Are you passionate about those amazing organelles? Do you believe the best has yet to come for mitochondria-targeted therapies?
You will be a key team member and together we will develop a project on mitochondrial transplantation for the rescue of marginal grafts or on targeting mitochondrial dynamics for Alcohol-related Liver Disease (according to your interest/expertise). Responsibilities will include day-to-day management and coordination of the project with a clear focus on translational medicine. By delving into the pathophysiological role of mitochondria, you will push the boundaries of mitochondrial medicine and develop innovative interventions to tackle the burden of liver disease.

You will be pivotal in performing and driving forward this research project: data collection and analysis, literature review, manuscript preparation for high-impact publications and grant applications. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to showcase your findings at internal and external scientific meetings/conferences. Acting as mentor and supervisor, you will also guide and inspire junior members of the research team and students.
