About the Job
The Programme Leader plays a pivotal role in upholding the integrity of the academic programme and aligning it with the college's strategic objectives. This includes meeting external standards set by the partner university, specifically Buckinghamshire New University for its programme BA (Hons) in Business Management with Foundation Year, and the Office for Students (OfS). This role is crucial for providing academic leadership, enhancing collaboration with partner universities, and ensuring the quality of learning, teaching, and assessment. Responsibilities include creating essential documents, managing a coherent virtual learning environment, and leading curriculum updates to foster student development and employability. Additionally, the Programme Leader engages in scholarly activities, enhancing educational practices and ensuring the programme meets rigorous audit standards. Availability during peak times, including weekends and intake periods, is required, with limited opportunities for annual leave during these critical phases.
About You
The ideal candidate for this role possesses a postgraduate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, along with a fellowship from Advance HE, or is in the process of achieving one. This individual should have substantial experience in higher education administration and leadership, specifically with a proven track record in managing and overseeing academic programmes. A deep understanding of the higher education landscape in the UK, including familiarity with B3 statistics and National Student Survey results, is essential. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, strategic planning skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively. A commitment to a student-centred educational approach and maintaining high ethical standards are crucial. Experience with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence is desirable. Additionally, the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and manage demanding situations while embodying the college's core values is fundamental.
