Location: Glasgow
Salary: £39,347 to £56,021 per annum
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent

The School of Biodiversity One Health and Veterinary Medicine is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in One Health Microbiology/Antimicrobial Resistance to carry out high-quality research in the area of, or allied with, bacteriology/microbiology and antimicrobial resistance (AMR), with a One Health perspective that cuts across both human and animal health. Research interests could include but are not limited to mechanisms of bacterial resistance, identification of novel antimicrobial agents, the epidemiology of AMR and development of strategies to combat AMR. In addition, you will deliver engaging lectures and design rigorous laboratory exercises to undergraduate and postgraduate students, with a focus on bacteriology, AMR, and mycology, and in so doing foster their intellectual growth and scientific curiosity. By integrating research and teaching, provide undergraduate and post graduate students with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of bacteriology/microbiology and AMR, preparing them to address current and emerging challenges in the field. The position will be in the Research and Teaching job family, and you will be based in the north of the city of Glasgow on the Garscube Campus.

We are particularly interested in candidates experienced with bacterial infections and AMR in a veterinary context. The successful candidate would be joining the One Health Research into Bacterial Infectious Diseases (OHRBID - https://www.ohrbidglasgow.com/) group and complement the systems and approaches of existing members.

We welcome applications from candidates with a PhD or equivalent clinical/research training in a relevant subject area with relevant research and higher education teaching experience.
