The Opportunity:

We are looking for a highly organised, professional, approachable and self-motivated individual to undertake the role of ZJE Administrator.

The post-holder operates under the supervision of the ZJE Education Partnership Manager and with guidance from the ZJE Senior Management Team (the ZJE Executive Dean and the UoE Dean of Biomedical Sciences). They will assist with essential day-to-day administrative support for the ZJE Institute which will involve providing operational support, facilitating internal and external communications, supporting visits and exchanges, fostering collaboration among internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining a supportive environment for staff and students within the Institute.

The post holder will be based in the Biomedical Teaching Organisation in the Old Medical School, Teviot Place in Edinburgh. They may be expected to undertake short visits to the ZJE Institute at Zhejiang University International Campus in China (up to a maximum of 30 days in total per year), in order to work with colleagues at the Institute.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. 

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • Educated to at least Higher standard (minimum Higher English) or equivalent plus relevant hands-on work experience in a similar or relevant role.
  • High level of competence using a wide range of relevant communication tools and platforms, such as Sharepoint, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to resolve unforeseen issues independently and work under tight deadlines.
  • Evidence of team working, working collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders.
