Faculty IT & Partnering provides local specialist applications and systems support and IT strategic business partnering for users in the School of Life and Medical Sciences (SLMS), in the Institute of Education (IOE), the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment and to departments in the Faculties of Arts & Humanities, Social & Historical Sciences and Laws.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Your role as IT Service Manager is to manage the day-to-day operations and provision of all IT services required by your School, Faculty, Institute or Department. Working as part of the Faculty IT and Partnering group, you will collaborate with several groups across ISD to ensure sufficient provision of resources and services to your designated User community.
The position requires several focuses including but not exclusive to the following:
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications, experience and knowledge
Previous experience of working in an IT Service/Project Management role with stakeholder management responsibilities.
Proven experience using a range of agile project management methods
Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity
Demonstrable knowledge of operations management, including staffing, infrastructure, technological and change management.
First degree or equivalent, preferably in a science or technology discipline, or substantial relevant business experience.
Skills and abilities
You will also be expected to possess a technical expertise and understanding of the following:
Windows and Apple operating systems
Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications
Proven staff management abilities and excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to act with tact and discretion and to motivate staff and co-operate with colleagues.
Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-building skills. Possess the ability to effectively present complex or technical information effectively to a range of audiences.
A flexible attitude to work, including the ability to take up new tasks quickly and when required without supervision.
