Salary on appointment will be £39,260 to £57,570 per annum (pro rata) on the Clinical Academic salary scale. Appointment salary level will be based on the appointee’s existing salary within the NHS.

The primary focus of this post will also be the Clinical Lead for the Gateway Year. This role encompasses Module Leadership of the MB BS Medicine with a Gateway year ‘Introduction to Clinical Medicine’ and planning and running of relevant Clinical Relevance Sessions. You will also be involved in the teaching and assessment of the undergraduate medical students. It is expected that you will contribute to PBL tutoring and/or consultation skills tutoring, as well as clinical skills teaching. All Lecturers also undertake a range of assessment activities; act as personal advisers to students (pastoral role) and undertake medical student selection interviews. There are a variety of roles that will be negotiated with individuals depending on their skills and experience, which will shape the scope and content of the various duties. While the role will primarily support the MB BS Course, there is also opportunity to contribute to postgraduate taught programmes. Working days will be arranged with the successful applicant. 

This part-time (0.4FTE) post is available on an indefinite basis and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
