Are you interested in supporting social sciences research in a growing research centre committed to using consumer data for the public good?
You will support the Consumer Data Research Centre (CDRC), funded by the UK Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC), as Operational Co-ordinator. The CDRC works with consumer organisations to make their data available to trusted research partners. We have engaged in a substantial programme of research, using consumer data to provide unique insight in to wide and diverse range of societal and economic questions, ranging from health & wellbeing through retail and urban mobility. Now in its second phase of funding, the CDRC is expanding its core research activity while continuing to bridge the gap between trusted researchers and our consumer partners.
The CDRC is hosted within the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA) which has been established with more than £20 million of funding from the University and four major research councils. The city of Leeds is already recognised as a hub for big data analytics in business, health care and academic research. LIDA’s goals are to move the University even further to the forefront by combining projects in consumer data research, medical bioinformatics, digital humanities and monitoring environmental change to provide a truly multi-disciplinary approach to this exciting and challenging field.
The University of Leeds is one of the top 75 universities in the world. We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities. Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.
