Early Years Practitioner

The University of Bradford Nursery has been operating since April 1992 with children attending either on a full-time or part time basis. We support children of students, staff and the local community offering an inclusive and diverse environment which meets the individual needs of all our children. What you will be doing:

• Support with the delivery of the Early Years Statutory Framework through an inclusive curriculum in line with our nursery values of respect, innovation, trust and excellence.
• Hold responsibility for a key group of children; monitoring, supporting and assessing their individual development through professional knowledge, assessment and observational skills in collaboration with parents/carers, maintaining positive relationships.
• Promote equality and be aware of diversity ensuring that every child and their family experiences a supportive and caring ethos, being committed to and proud of working in an environment which promotes inclusion.
• Deliver a stimulating and attractive environment through a diverse range of resources, equipment, activities, and displays which encourage the children to be independent, self-motivated, and respectful with an eagerness to learn.
• Under the direction of the management team, develop personal and professional skills that support the children’s well-being, learning and development, having full regard to their needs.

Qualifications/ experience:

• Level 3 Full & Relevant qualification in Early Years in line with the following guidance document https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-qualifications-achieved-in-england 
• Relevant pre or post qualifying experience in a nursery environment 
• Knowledge of the Early Years Statutory Framework and Educational Programmes 
• Safeguarding knowledge – signs, symptoms and reporting procedures
