The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated individual to teach within our History team at Gower College Swansea. This role is a permanent, fractional post and involves delivery of the WJEC A level History curriculum. History is a very popular course at Gower College Swansea so this is your opportunity to join a thriving department with a strong and supportive approach to teaching and learning. 

  • Part time, 18.5 hours per week

  • £24, 049 - £47,331 pro rata (depending on qualifications and/or experience)
  • Based in Gorseinon Campus

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work with the team to deliver A level History ensuring excellence in teaching, learning and assessment across both AS and A2 courses.
  • To plan, prepare and teach A Level History ensuring schemes of work and assessments are appropriate to the exam board specification.
  • To ensure teaching and learning strategies and teaching materials are planned to meet the varied needs of learners.
  • To work with the Curriculum Leader and Learning Area Manager to set targets and monitor performance in recruitment, attendance, retention, attainment and successful completion.
  • To keep up to date with curriculum developments, subject knowledge and innovations in teaching and learning.

About you:

  • Possess a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Are able to demonstrate highly successful experience of teaching A level History and a passion for the subject.
  • A very confident communicator and committed individual who can engage and inspire learners of all abilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a team player.
  • The ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of learners.

  • Gweithio gyda’r tîm i gyflwyno’r cymhwyster Hanes Safon Uwch, gan sicrhau rhagoriaeth mewn addysgu, dysgu ac asesu ar draws cyrsiau UG ac A2.
  • Cynllunio, paratoi ac addysgu’r cwrs Hanes Safon Uwch gan sicrhau bod cynlluniau gwaith ac asesiadau yn cael eu cynnig yn unol â manylebau’r corff arholi.
  • Sicrhau bod strategaethau addysgu a dysgu a deunyddiau addysgu yn cael eu cynllunio ymlaen llaw i ddiwallu anghenion dysgwyr.
  • Gweithio gyda’r Arweinydd Cwricwlwm a’r Rheolwr Maes Dysgu i osod targedau a monitro perfformiad mewn perthynas â recriwtio, presenoldeb, cadw cyrhaeddiad a chwblhau’n llwyddiannus.
  • Cadw i fyny â’r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf o ran datblygiadau cwricwlwm, gwybodaeth am eich pwnc a datblygiadau arloesol mewn addysgu a dysgu.
