The Role

As part of Maynooth University’s strategic development, the Department of Computer Science is seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as an Assistant Professor / Lecturer or Assistant Lecturer in Advanced Intelligent Systems. The person appointed will be a full faculty member, and as such will be expected to innovate in both research and teaching, to assist in the administration and mission of the Department, and to contribute to the wider research community.
The appointed candidate will be an excellent researcher and lecturer with clear potential for research leadership and a proven record of teaching, research and publication, appropriate to career stage. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the Department and undertake teaching duties on the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as the supervision of Masters and PhD students.
The appointee will be expected to build a strong research profile that supports the University’s research strategy, including affiliating to the Research Institutes, where appropriate, and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance, and generate publications of international standard. They should have a strong commitment to research-led undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a demonstrated capacity/potential to attract research funding and develop a world-class research programme.
