We are excited to announce a new opening for a Food and Beverage Supervisor at Birkbeck, University of London. As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising day-to-day operations in our catering units or hospitality venues to drive quality and sales.
  • Preparing food and drink in line with recipes and assisting chefs where appropriate.
  • Inducting, motivating, and training the team via informal on-the-job training.
  • Ensuring all equipment used is in safe working order and any faults are reported to management.
  • Complying with all legislation, college policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ordering stock in line with agreed policies and procedures, ensuring good stock rotation and conducting stock takes.
  • Assisting catering management with day-to-day operational matters.

The ideal candidate for the Food and Beverage Supervisor role will have:

  • Understanding of food and beverage retail operation.
  • Experience in a café, restaurant, or bar.
  • Experience of supervising a team and coordinating an operation.
  • Level 3 Food Safety Certificate or willing to work towards it within the first 6 months of employment.

If you've previously held roles such as Food and Beverage Manager, Catering Supervisor, Hospitality Supervisor, Restaurant Supervisor, or Bar Supervisor, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Remuneration

Annual salary of £26,668, rising to £29,392. Grade 3 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
