Background

The Faculty of Finance, one of the largest finance groups in the UK, is home to world-leading academics with expertise in all key areas of finance. Incorporating diverse research communities including accounting; banking; quantitative finance and data science; real estate finance and investment; shipping, international trade, and commodity finance. Bayes offers several finance and accounting focused degrees including Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PhD and executive PhD, MBA, and executive education. Our programmes and faculty benefit from our proximity to, and close links with, the City of London.

Bayes is not complacent about its achievements. On the contrary, we will be seeking to significantly develop our research and education and, critically, our engagement with practice. We are conscious that business schools are experiencing disruption in how research is undertaken and disseminated, how education is delivered and what is expected by business and society from a business school.

The Faculty of Finance is proud of its diversity, thought leadership, and collegiality, it seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Banking.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will conduct research and design and deliver high quality education in banking. You will teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including lectures and online classes. You will play a full and active role as a member of the Faculty of Finance.

Person Specification

Must have completed or be close to completing a PhD in Finance or a finance related discipline.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential to design and deliver high quality education in Banking and/or Finance and to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including lectures and online classes. Candidates should have earned an HEA fellowship or its equivalent or be willing to gain HEA fellowship soon after their appointment.
