The University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Teaching Associate to postgraduate teaching in the area of comparative genomics as part of the MSc Bioinformatics degree in the School of Life Sciences.

You will convene and teach a semester long (20 credit) module on Comparative Genomics in Autumn, provide tutoring throughout the year, and individual research projects in semester 3. You will also contribute to the marking, feedback and assessment of students in semesters 1, 2 and 3, including dissertation supervision and viva voca examinations. You will work closely with the MSc Bioinformatics course leader to support and maintain the highest quality teaching and learning experience for our students.

You will have a PhD or equivalent in relevant subject area or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience.

The post is offered on a part time (18.25 hours per week), fixed term contract for 24 months, starting 1st October 2024 and ending 30th September 2026 (the role must end on this date if start date is delayed). 

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
