Job description
We are currently seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Philosophy & Ethics to develop, design and deliver a range of courses and modules at undergraduate and (potentially) postgraduate levels here at Bath Spa University.
About the role
Within your role you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging teaching and assessment across various modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You'll play a crucial role in supporting student learning and development, including their professional growth, and aiding in career planning. You will also contribute to pedagogical advancements and curricular planning, aligning with our teaching and learning strategy. In addition, you will manage student placements and projects, both internally and with external partners, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and processes, whilst undertaking administrative tasks, student recruitment, and research projects.
About you
You will have a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline and a proven track record of successful teaching in higher education, emphasising ethics and applied philosophy. You will abe able to clearly demonstrate proficiency in curriculum design at various levels and have a knack for developing public engagement activities in philosophy and ethics. In addition, you will be able to showcase teaching and research experience in philosophy and ethics from diverse perspectives, such as global or non-western philosophies, philosophy of religion, or social and political philosophy. As a proactive self-starter, you will have a flexible, collaborative approach and be adaptive to change.
