WMG is a vibrant, cutting-edge research institution at the University of Warwick, providing research, education and knowledge transfer in engineering, manufacturing and technology. 

We currently have a newly available post within the Power Electronics and Machines Research Group for an Engineering Technician in the Winding Centre of Excellence at WMG. 

The Centre contains state of the art winding equipment for the development of next generation electrical machines especially for automotive and aerospace applications. It also has supporting capabilities such as impregnation and electro-mechanical testing. The Centre is open to external partners and undertakes a wide range of projects in conjunction with industrial partners.     

About You  

Excellent communication skills and a high level of health and safety awareness will be essential for the role in order to liaise with academics, students and other staff to set up, run and maintain specialist equipment and provide advice on the feasibility of practical experimental design and manufacture.

You will need to have successfully completed an engineering apprenticeship or HNC/ONC in Engineering or hold a similar qualification, along with relevant experience in a related engineering discipline / environment. Ideally you will have experience of manufacturing processes in an industrial context and experience of programming and operation of machines.
