We currently have a rare and unique opportunity for a Research Strategy, Delivery and Culture Lead to join the Pandemic Sciences Institute hosted by the Nuffield Department of Medicine. 

This exciting new position will support the PSI Director to deliver the Institute’s Scientific Strategy within a supportive research environment, and is critical to delivering PSI’s ambitious global vision. 

As the Research Strategy, Delivery and Culture Lead, you will have responsibility for coordinating, facilitating, monitoring and evaluating the delivery of the PSI Scientific Strategy. You will support the PSI Senior Management Team and work with senior PSI Investigators to develop and implement a science delivery plan. This plan should include the identification of capability gaps, opportunities and a structured approach to monitoring research delivery and impact. In addition, you will consult with PSI colleagues at all levels to identify ways to promote and assess a supportive and empowering research culture. 

This role requires an individual with extensive research management experience in the academic, not-for-profit or industrial sector – preferably at a strategic level – with excellent influencing and advocacy skills. 

To be successful in this role, you will hold a PhD with significant post-qualification research experience, and have a track record in science coordination and/or delivery, in either an academic, not-for-profit, or industry environment. You will have a strong leadership record with experience of managing staff, particularly through translation of academic scientific vision to project delivery, with the ability to engage and motivate colleagues to fulfil their potential. It is essential that you are able to work effectively and credibly with senior stakeholders from academic, government, not-for-profit and industry environments, and have excellent diplomacy, communication and people skills.
