CPRD FTC Airlock Manager

We are currently looking for an Airlock Manager to join our Clinical Practice Research Datalink team in the Safety and Surveillance group.

 Within a week of working here, your day could look like this: you will be applying your statistical and governance expertise to support public health research. Specifically, the Airlock Manager will be responsible for overseeing and evaluating all requests to remove data from the CPRD Trusted Research Environment (TRE) to maximise the utility of CPRD data, subject to addressing disclosure risks. Negotiating new contracts and renewals and supporting business improvement.  Drafting contracts and documentation.  Protecting CPRD’s reputation and interests.  Managing records and documentation, contracts processes and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have A degree in Epidemiology, Medical Statistics, equivalent related qualification, or equivalent experience and proven ability in conducting epidemiological research using large complex longitudinal datasets.

• In depth understanding of epidemiological principles and statistical concepts and experience of applying this in practice
• Experience of research using primary care data and other health related data sources and working understanding of the research governance around the use of and sharing of anonymised patient data.
• Sound knowledge of the challenges involved in using health data in public health research
• Working knowledge and understanding of quality assurance in research as demonstrated by the ability to identify and report on pertinent issues and suggest practical solutions.
