12-month fixed-term contract
Are you interested in policy work? Do you enjoy quickly getting to grips with complex issues, for example in the areas of welfare and mental health, sustainability, equality and cybersecurity? Would you like to work with a wide and diverse range of colleagues, supporting Oxford’s colleges, their staff and students? If so, this could be the opportunity for you.
The Conference of Colleges Secretariat is recruiting a Policy Officer to cover a period of family leave. It is a 12-month contract, also open as a secondment opportunity.
The Conference of Colleges is a forum for the Colleges of the University of Oxford to deal with matters of shared interest and common purpose, and a voice for college interests within the University community. The Conference is supported by a small Secretariat.
This role includes committee servicing, project work, research and analysis, and support of colleagues across the Oxford colleges. The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, experience of administrative work, and experience of higher education. Experience of working in or with Oxford University and/or Colleges will be an advantage.
You will be responsible for managing your own work, reporting to the Director. The post is full time; the Secretariat team works flexibly and the Director is happy to consider the case for flexible hours and remote working, as long as key committee and team meeting responsibilities are met.
