Job Summary
Are you an organised, proactive individual with demonstrable administrative experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Education Team in the Department of Surgery & Cancer. This key role supports the end-to-end postgraduate journey from enrolment to graduation.
Duties and responsibilities
You will join a busy central team which supports over 900 undergraduate, MSc and PhD students across 5 campuses. Critical aspects of the role include the provision of comprehensive, administrative and management support to ensure the efficient delivery and smooth running of our education programmes. You will have particular responsibility to support staff and students on the MSc Healthcare & Design, and the MSc Patient Safety programmes. Our students are working professionals undertaking part-time study, so ensuring an outstanding student experience, is a significant component of the role. The MSc Healthcare & Design is co-delivered with the Royal College of Art and you will play a crucial role in maintaining excellent stakeholder engagement with the RCA. The MSc Patient Safety is an online only programme.
In addition to managing these two MSc programmes, you will support the Senior Postgraduate Education Administrator in the delivery of joint modules to our sister programme, MSc Health Policy, and the development of new resources within this suite of programmes.
The post would suit an experienced, enthusiastic and self-motivated administrator seeking to further their career in this stimulating role in higher education. The ability to work independently, managing a busy workload with competing priorities to tight deadlines is essential, as is attention to detail and accuracy. The post holder must have a highly professional approach to their work and possess excellent organisational and communication skills.
The Postgraduate Education Administrator will be located at the South Kensington Campus, but will work on other campuses on occasions, as the Dept has staff based across four campuses.
Essential requirements
Please note that job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, and the post-holder may be required to undertake other duties, which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.
