Digital Innovation and Technology Services (DITS) provides outstanding IT services and facilities and enables excellence in their use, across the University’s three UK-based campuses, and our international campuses & partner institutions. Our services range from underlying infrastructure technologies, provision of a modern Media Centre, to digital skills training for staff and students. Our vision is of a University where students and staff are provided with the digital tools and processes to enable excellent Education and Research.
We are a community of over 140 staff, working in partnership with our colleagues across the University to deliver Digital Innovation and Technology services to meet the needs of the University. DITS is organised into five service groups including Infrastructure Services, IT Customer Experience, Software Development Services, Commercial Applications and Strategic Project Delivery.
We are looking to appoint a number of Software Developers to join our highly successful Software Development group, working in different teams, to deliver mission critical systems with high operational integrity. The postholder will work closely with colleagues within their own and other teams, including close liaison with clients. In a rapidly changing higher education landscape you will be required to embrace change whilst maintaining a consistent quality of output.
Working to a philosophy of facilitating solutions not just software, you will play a vital role in the objectives of their team, balancing the necessity to develop a new generation of integrated systems whilst supporting the day-to-day requirements of the business. As such, you will be directly involved in all aspects the product life cycle, across multiple products, from user requirement solicitation, design and analysis, coding, testing, deployment, documentation and support. Additionally, you will contribute to the progression and advancement of the team’s working practices and methodologies.
