Post 1: Clinical Communication 

Post 2: Clinical Communication with Behavioural & Social Sciences 

The lectureships will be held in the Division of Medical Education, School of Medical Sciences, providing up to 12 month maternity cover for 2 positions.  At least one post will require experience in Behavioural & Social Sciences, with both being excellent clinical communications educators.

Candidates will have direct and recent experience of teaching clinical communication and/or behavioural and social sciences. They will have a background in health professional education, behavioural sciences (including psychology), social sciences, health sciences or as a health care professional. The successful candidate will join our interdisciplinary team, and will contribute to delivery of our innovative clinical communication curriculum and/or behavioural and social science curriculum in the MB ChB,  GEM & Physician Associate degree programmes.  

You will be responsible for preparing a programme of teaching to ensure that outcomes for year 1 and 2 are achieved in line with the programme and regulatory requirements, as well as reviewing, developing and delivering learning on an ongoing basis.  You will deliver small group teaching and facilitation to Years 1 and 2 of the MBChB, GEM and Physician Associates programmes.

Applicants should hold a first degree or equivalent in a subject relevant to health professional education, health sciences or as a health care professional (post 1) or behavioural sciences, including psychology (post 2).  You will have experience of participating in clinical communication skills education or teaching behavioural or social sciences to undergraduate / postgraduate students.
