Churchill College has created a unique makerspace with workshops, both digital and traditional, equipped to enable students to experiment with different techniques and bridge academic disciplines with creativity and innovation including a multi-purpose project space, to explore, design, test, scale, build and present ideas - technical, social, artistic and more. It is therefore looking for a forward-looking individual with strong technical expertise, a passion for creativity, and excellent organisational and student support skills to be technical lead for the Workshops.

Having a skilled and experienced technician on hand to offer advice, skills and training to students will be essential to the success of the Workshops. As Technical Lead, you'll play a crucial role in developing and implementing processes to keep the workshop current and equipped for the latest trends in making and creativity. You'll lead on ensuring user safety while fostering an environment that encourages innovative thinking.

You will be proficient in operating and troubleshooting a wide range of tools and equipment commonly found in 'maker' spaces, including 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and electronics equipment, and familiar with relevant software. Your interpersonal, technical and organisational skills will be essential for fostering a creative community and maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow.
