Background
City’s Information Assurance Team is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Team Leader. If you know that the answer to every data protection question is “it depends” and why, we would like to hear from you. The small but influential team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for all aspects of City’s compliance with the Data Protection Legislation, as well as compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, 2000. Data protection is a critical pillar of City’s governance structure.
Responsibilities
You will lead the Information Assurance Team to deliver service as agreed with the Director of Information Governance. You will provide subject matter expertise on the Data Protection and Information Management legislation. In addition, you will work to ensure City's compliance obligations are met; providing training and guidance to all stakeholders. Substantial experience of dealing with data breaches, reviewing DPIAs and providing risk mitigation is required.
Person Specification
You will be professionally qualified or with substantial vocational experience and possess extensive knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework governing data protection, Freedom of Information, EIR, PECR, records management and related matters. You will have substantial experience in leading, managing and developing a team and managing complex data protection queries. You will have excellent problem solving and time management skills and the ability to build effective working relationships will all stakeholders.
