The role

Non-Executive Director:   Director of Marketing, Communication and Engagement

The new role of Director of Marketing, Communication and Engagement is an important strategic leadership position. The new Director will play a central role in delivering strategy, policy and processes which enhance Ravensbourne University London’s student journey, in addition to leading and delivering all aspects of student recruitment, communication and public relations.

The role exists to:

• develop vision and strategy for effective, high-quality student recruitment. Bringing together the directorate to enhance the student journey of our diverse population of students.
• Have responsibility for university communications, both internally and externally
• ensuring that the student recruitment strategy has influence in university level strategic development and change projects.
• Hold overarching accountability, in terms of quality, cost effectiveness, and income for the directorate including student recruitment marketing, communication & content, strategic student recruitment partnerships and admissions
• Lead development of services, resources and administrative infrastructure, contributing to collegiate working and partnerships to deliver student success.

The candidate

This is a strategically important role within the university and will be expected work with senior managers across multiple departments in order to deliver the team’s objectives. 

The candidate will need to be able to demonstrate: 

• Extensive, demonstrable leadership and management skills and experience
• Extensive knowledge of the UK higher education landscape
• Experience of writing and successfully delivering strategic and operational plans
