Advert text

This is an opportunity to join a Wellcome funded research project examining peer influences on adolescent mental health. The role will involve secondary data analysis of existing longitudinal datasets that combine social network and mental health measures, and the design, collection and analysis of new experimental and longitudinal data.  The successful candidate will also have a significant degree of freedom to incorporate their own ideas and questions within the constraints of the data and project.

The post is full-time fixed term for 12 months but 0.8 FTE hours will be considered, and is available to start immediately or before September 2024.

Candidates should hold, or be close to completing, a PhD in Psychology or a related discipline. Some prior knowledge of adolescent social development and/or mental health is essential. Excellent communication skills, interests in working as part of an interdisciplinary team, and the ability to manage your own research are key to the post. Significant experience analysing data with R (or equivalent) is essential, and whilst experience analysing longitudinal social network data is desirable, it is not essential.

A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check due to regulated activity involving children will be required.

For any questions relating to the project please contact Dr Jack Andrews (jack.andrews@univ.ox.ac.uk)

The closing date for applications is midday on June 7th 2024.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. As part of your application, you will be required to upload a covering letter explaining how you meet the job requirements, as well as a CV and details of two referees.
