About us

The Faculty of Medical Sciences brings together six UCL divisions and institutes – UCL Cancer Institute, Eastman Dental Institute, Division of Medicine, Division of Infection and Immunity, Division of Surgery and Interventional Sciences and the UCL Medical School. All our programmes increasingly rely on digital technology to enhance learning and in some cases programmes are delivered fully or partly online. The post holder will join the newly formed Faculty Digital Education and Records Team, comprised of 7 staff, who will deliver a service to lecturers, administration staff, and students across the Faculty. The team is based at the Bloomsbury Campus, but team members will make visits to other campuses as required.

About the role

The post holder will work with the team of Learning Technologists to develop and support digital education across the Faculties’ programmes, including the creation of bespoke Virtual Learning Environments (VLE’s), immersive technologies (AR/VR), mobile learning and digital assessment. The MBBS programme will be a large focus of the role due to its size and complexity. The postholder will liaise with a range of academic, professional services and information systems staff within UCL and also in its partner NHS Trusts.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting faculty staff with the delivery of VLE content
• Supporting and assisting with delivery of on-line and face to face assessments
• Managing the Digital Education inventory and devices.
• Assisting with staff and student training (e.g. developing guidelines for users) and promoting and gaining feedback on services.

About you

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Assistant Learning Technologist to support our digital education provision across faculty of Medical Sciences. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong interest in digital education to develop their skills and knowledge. This is an entry level position where training, guidance and support will be provided alongside support for career development. You will have an UG degree, NVQ 111 or equivalent level qualification or have substantial relevant experience and you will be experienced in using VLE’s.
