Who we need
We are seeking to appoint a Communication Support Worker to work with the Deaf Access Team at Nottingham College across a variety of college sites. This role is key in providing access to our Deaf students, using British Sign Language, during college activities in and outside of the classroom. Key responsibilities of the role include:
What you’ll bring
The successful candidate will hold, or be working towards, a Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) and have some experience of working in the post-16 environment. They must also have the ability to work flexibly within different curriculum areas, be a team player and liaise with the Additional Learning Support Lecturer for Deaf Students, other CSWs and Educational Interpreters to ensure D/deaf students are supported.
This position requires excellent communication skills to facilitate and develop good working relationships with tutors, the wider Additional Learning Support Team and other college staff.
